Ram Madhvani

Ram Madhvani is an ad filmmaker of repute. He made his feature film debut with the film Let’s Talk that premiered at the Locarno Film Festival. In the year 2006, Madhvani won a bronze and a silver lion at Cannes for the Happydent White commercial. Bimal Roy

Bimal Roy was a prolific Indian film director and the recipient of a number of awards and recognition. He started his film career by being an assistant director to P.C. Barua on the very successful 1935 film Devdas, starring K.L. Saigal. Do Bigha Zamin, Parineeta, Biraj Bahu, Madhumati, Sujata, and Bandini are some of his bette- known movies. His films are charaterised by their realistic and socialistic elements. Among his films, Do Bigha Zamin, Madhumati, Sujata and Bandini have won the Filmfare Best Film Award. Roy won the Filmfare Best Director Award for his films Do Bigha Zamin, Parineeta, Biraj Babu, Madhumati, Sujata, Parakh and Bandini. His movie Do Bigha Zamin won the International Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1953. His movies have also won a number of National Film Awards. His film Madhumati received nine Filmfare Awards in the year 1958, a record which was held for 37 years.

Mira Nair

Mira Nair is a US-based Indian film director and producer. She made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Salaam Bombay! in 1988. The movie went on to win the Golden Camera award at the Cannes Film Festival and was a nominee for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Nair has also directed movies such as Monsoon Wedding, Mississippi Masala, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, Vanity Fair, The Namesake, New York, I Love You and Amelia. She is also a recipient of India’s third highest civilian award the Padma Bhushan.

Shekhar Kapur

Shekhar Kapur is an Indian film director, actor, writer and producer. Kapur made his acting debut with Jaan Hazir Hai (1975). He donned the hat of a director for the first time for the critically acclaimed movie Masoom (1983) starring Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi. His next film was the fantasy thriller Mr. India starring Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri and Sridevi. His third film was the1994 film Bandit Queen based on the life of Indian bandit and politician Phoolan Devi. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie and Best Direction for that year. His biopics Queen Elizabeth Elizabeth (1998) and The Golden Age (2007) have won the BAFTA Award for Best Film as well as two Academy Award nominations. Kapur was also a jury member (International Competition) at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival in 2010.
