Shekhar Kapur is an Indian film director, actor, writer and producer. Kapur made his acting debut with Jaan Hazir Hai (1975). He donned the hat of a director for the first time for the critically acclaimed movie Masoom (1983) starring Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi. His next film was the fantasy thriller Mr. India starring Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri and Sridevi. His third film was the1994 film Bandit Queen based on the life of Indian bandit and politician Phoolan Devi. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie and Best Direction for that year. His biopics Queen Elizabeth Elizabeth (1998) and The Golden Age (2007) have won the BAFTA Award for Best Film as well as two Academy Award nominations. Kapur was also a jury member (International Competition) at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival in 2010.

Sonam Kapoor is an Indian actress and a former model. She is the daughter of Indian film actor Anil Kapoor. Sonam is perhaps internationally best known as a spoke person for the French beauty brand L’oréal. She endorses the brand in India and represents the brand at the Cannes Film Festival along with Aishwarya Rai and Freida Pinto. She made her Bollywood debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Her noteworthy films are Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Aisha and Khoobsurat.
