Biography: Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy (famously known as Cho Ramaswamy) is a comedian, editor, playwright and lawyer in Tamil Nadu. He is the founder and editor of the Tamil magazine, Thuglak. His popularity in the Tamil Nadu literary circles is mainly due to his impartial assessment of political issues, and the frankness with which he publishes his viewpoints. Politicians have been the target of his editorial attacks. Some of the plays directed by Ramaswamy are Muhammad bin Tughluq, Yaarukkum Vetkamillai, Saathiram Sonnadhillai etc. He has acted in movies like Muhammad bin Tughluq, En Annan, Maattukaaravela, Pommalaattam, Engal Thangam, Aayiram Poi, Neelagiri Express, to name a few. He has also directed movies, written screenplays and scripted religious works.He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India, K. R. Narayanan and served as a Rajya Sabha MP from November 1999 to November 2005.
