Biography: Feroz Khan was a Bollywood actor, director, producer and film editor. He was known as the Clint Eastwood of the East thanks to his cowboyish style, cigar and swagger. Feroz hails from an immigrant Afghan family residing in Bangalore. He came to Bombay to act in Hindi films and started off with low-budget thrillers. His first mainstream film was Oonche log in 1965, starring Raaj Kumar and Ashok Kumar. He got recognition as an actor in Aarzoo, starring Sadhana. He continued playing second leads in films like Sikkay, Geeta Mera Naam,Pyasi Sham, Shankar Shambhu and Safar. He acted with his brother Sanjay Khan in Mela, Upaasna, and Nagin. He turned to direction and production with Apradh. In 1975 he delivered the blockbuster Dharmatma that established him as a lead actor, director and producer. His biggest hit was Qurbaani, which he directed, too. He tasted success again with movies such as Jaanbaaz, Dayavan, Yalgaar, etc. He launched his son Fardeen Khan in Prem Aggan, but the film bombed. He cast him again in Janasheen and Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. Feroz Khan last appeared in the film Welcome. He was married to Sundari Khan and they had two children, daughter Laila and son Fardeen. He passed away on 27 April 2009 due to cancer, at the age of 69.
