Biography: Nicole Kidman is an established Australian actress and film producer. Kidman started her acting career from the theatre. She got her film break in 1983, when she was only 16 years old, in a remake of the Australian holiday season favourite Bush Christmas. This was followed by work in a number of television series such as Five Mile Creek and A Country Practice. Some of her early movies include Dead Calm, Emerald City, Days of Thunder, Flirting, Billy Bathgate (won Kidman the first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress), Malice and My Life. In 1995, her career got a huge kick start when she was cast in the superhero film Batman Forever. This was followed by movies such as To Die For, The Portrait of a Lady, The Peacemaker, Practical Magic, Eyes Wide Shut and the musical Moulin Rouge! For the film Moulin Rouge! Kidman received her second Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. She also received her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Her other movies include The Others, The Hours, Cold Mountain, Birth, The Stepford Wives, The Interpreter, The Golden Compass, The Invasion, Nine and Australia, among others. She received her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role in Hemingway & Gellhorn. Nicole Kidman is also a UNICEF ambassador.
