Biography: Soundarya was a famous actress from South India with more than 100 films to her credit. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi movies. She was a popular star in the 90s who moved on to producing films later in her career. She died in a plane crash 2004 at the age of 31. She was the daughter of film producer and writer K. S. Satyanarayan. She was offered her first Kannada film while she was studying MBBS. She signed it and Gandharva became successful. She then worked in hit Telugu films like Rajendrudu Gajendrudu and Ammoru. She has worked with top heroes in the South including Nagarjuna, Vikram, Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi, Abbas and Prabhu Deva. She acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Sooryavansham. She produced and acted in Dweepa, a Kannada movie which won many awards. She was campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party when her plane crashed. Her brother Amarnath also died in the crash. She was posthumously awarded the Karnataka State Award for her last film Apthamithra.
