Biography: Carrie Fisher is an American actress, novelist, screenwriter and performance artist. She made her film debut in the comedy Shampoo (1975) starring Warren Beatty, Julie Christie and Goldie Hawn. She was then cast in the role of Princess Leia Organa in George Lucas's science-fiction film Star Wars (1977). She has also starred in movies such as Scream 4, The Blue Brothers, Hannah and her Sisters, Under the Rainbow, Drop Dead Fred, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and The Man with One Red Shoe, among others. She has written the novel Postcards from the Edge, which is a best seller. The movie has been adopted into a movie starring Meryl Streep. Her other novels are Surrender the Pink (1990) and Delusions of Grandma (1993).
