Biography: One of the most dashing and stylish actors of Bollywood, it baffles me why he most often played the bad guy. A product of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Danny’s career spreads over four decades. It is after his performance in Lahoo Ke Do Rang that he started playing more significant roles on screen. His major break was B.R.Chopra’s Dhundh. His next venture was Kanoon Kya Karega. Danny played the negative role with great panache and has acted with all the superstars of that era (the 80s and the 90s) such as as Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Mithun, Vinod Khanna, Anil Kapoor and Sunny Deol. His most famous antihero roles include Shera in Andar Baahar (1984), Aandhi Toofan (1986), Gangwaa in Bhagwan Dada (1986), Kancha Cheena in Agneepath (1990), Bhaktawar in Hum (1991), Kaatya in Ghatak: Lethal, Chatur Singh in Krantiveer (1994) and Abhrush in Pukar (2000). His role in Hum was much appreciated and won him the nomination of Filmfare Award for Best Villain. In 1992, Danny won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor for Sanam Bewafa and in 1993 he won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor for Khuda Gawah. His roles in the more recent films Asoka and 16 December were laudable.
