Biography: Dinesh Thakur is an actor (stage, film and television) and a theatre director. He was involved in theatre right from college. He made his film debut with Mere Apne which was written and directed by Gulzar. His second and third films were Basu Bhattacharya's Anubhav (1971) and Griha Pravesh (1979) respectively. His fourth film was Basu Chatterjee's landmark title Rajnigandha (1974), alongside Amol Palekar and Vidya Sinha, which won the Filmfare Best Film Award. Thakur has also written the story and screenplay for the movie Ghar (1978), which won him the 1979 Filmfare Best Story Award.
