Biography: Melanie Griffith is an American actress. She made her debut in a commercial when she was just nine months old. She acted in films such as Smile, The Drowning Pool, Night Moves and the Israeli-film The Garden. However, her major role was in the film Body Double and her performance won her the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her next film was Jonathan Demme's Something Wild (1986) in which she appeared in the lead role. Some of her other movies include Cherry 2000 and Working Girl (1988). For Working Girl, she won the Academy Award nomination for Best Actress and won her the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. Some of her other movies include Pacific Heights, The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), A Stranger Among Us and Shining Through (1992), Born Yesterday (1993), Milk Money (1994), Nobody's Fool (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Two Much (1996). The actress also won a nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film for Buffalo Girls (1995).
