During the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998, Saif was charged with poaching of two blackbucks in Rajasthan. Although Khan was later acquitted, his co-star Salman Khan was charged with the crime of killing the blackbucks.
Saif divorced his wife Amrita Singh in 2004. He has two kids with Amrita and both of them have been staying with their mother since the divorce. Khan later started dating Kareena Kapoor and the two have been contemplating marriage for quite some time now.
Saif’s father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away on 22 September 2011. After his father’s demise, Saif has been crowned as the next nawab of Pataudi.
Saif started his own production house illuminati films in 2009. Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod, Cocktail, Go Goa Gone are films that have been financed by his production house, so far.
Saif got into a brawl with an NRI businessman. They were having dinner at a suburban restaurant when the actor got into an argument with Iqbal Sharma ( the alleged victim). Khan has been accused of not just assaulting Iqbal but also his 68 year old father-in-law. Rumour suggests that the fight was a promotional strategy to create hype about his film Agent Vinod.
“I try not to hurt people, but sometimes when I feel I am not being understood and being treated as a human being. I can’t help it. For example, when I hurt myself while shooting for Friends [original title of Kya Kehna] and was lying in a pool of blood, people were taking my photographs.”
“I'm horrifed when I see some of my earlier work. I just wonder how I could have done certain films and got away with it too.”
“I would never want her (Kareena) to change her religion. That is the trouble with religion really... it expects conversion. I don't buy or believe that. I think it's good that the government, too, has - unless I'm misinformed about the law amended to include it in the Special Marriage Act. If and when we do get married, no one has to change his or her religion.”
“I have got a friend and a dream lover in Bebo (Kareena Kapoor).”
“I have just come back from Kolkata (after wrapping up a schedule of Bullet Raja, also directed by Tigmanshu). Soha has already had a word with me (about the scenes). It's a completely baseless and senseless story. There's absolutely no truth to it. Why would I interfere in anyone's career - be it my sister or my wife?”
