Biography: Scarlett Johansson is an American model, singer and actress. She got her first film role at the age of nine in the 1994 fantasy comedy, North. A string of films where she played minor roles followed. She was then cast in Robert Redford’s The Horse Whisperer in 1998. She received a nomination for the Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Most Promising Actress for this movie. Her next substantial break as an adult was in the Sofia Coppola film Lost in Translation. Her role won her the BAFTA Award and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. She received nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Chicago Film Critics Association.
