Biography: Sulakshana Pandit comes from a family background that has always been into music. Her uncle is the noted vocalist Pandit Jasraj and her brothers are the composing duo Jatin-Lalit. Pandit is herself a playback singer as well as an actress. She made her acting debut with the suspense thriller Uljhan in 1975 opposite Sanjeev Kumar. She has also acted in movies such as Hera Pheri, Madadgaar, Salaakhen, Apnapan, Sankoch, Khandaan, Raaz, Thief of Baghdad, Chehre Pe Chehra, Dharam Kanta, Waqt Ki Deewar and Bondie (a Bengali movie where she starred with Uttam Kumar). During her movie career, she worked with the likes of Jeetendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Raj Babbar and Rakesh Roshan. Sulakshana Pandit was one of the singers to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London to celebrate the Festival of Indian Music Concert along with other accomplished music directors and singers.
