Kannada actor Haripriya: Not dating Vijayendra, CBI didn’t raid my house
Kannada actor Haripriya has denied reports that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths raided her residence calling them ‘wild imagination of media’. She also said that she is not romantically involved with BS Vijayendra son of former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa
“I am surprised how such baseless news was scrolled on news channels. There was no CBI raid at my house. I am surprised about the pattern of false news being telecast on many platforms just at the time when my film is ready to release,” said Haripriya. “The channels had scrolled that CBI raided my Sadashivnagar residence, but actually I stay in Yashwantpur,” she added. The CBI raided residences of former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and his kin in Bangalore and Shimoga early on Wednesday for their alleged role in the multi-crore-rupee mining scam in the state.Click here to read more
Kalki Koechlin: Dibakar Banerjee made me cry during ‘Shanghai’ shoot
Kalki Koechlin comes from a non-film background, but the actor has managed to carve a niche for herself with her unconventional choice of scripts. She is now gearing up for her forthcoming flick Shanghai, directed by Dibakar Banerjee
Kalki however admits it is hard to keep up the good work in filmdom. “I feel lucky enough to have had a good start by working in alternate niche films like Dev D that have a different style. I have got an opportunity to work with some very good directors, but it is hard to keep up the good work,” said Kalki.“It is very important to choose the right kind of roles; and not rush into grabbing projects. It is important to be patient. You might work for eight-nine months and be out of work for the rest of the time,” she added. The 29-year-old is known for portraying unconventional characters. She ventured into filmdom with critically acclaimed Dev.D, where she played a young girl who ends up becoming a prostitute. Later she did films like Shaitan, That Girl In Yellow Boots and most recently Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and My Friend Pinto.Click here to read more

Habib Faisal: I wasn’t sure if Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor were as excited as me about ‘Ishaqzaade’
After directing an innately charming, simplistically entertaining slice of life flick, Do Dooni Chaar, Habib Faisal comes up with a spunky love story set in a small town, Ishaqzaade, as his next. You’d say, yet another prem kahaani. The salt and pepper-haired writer-director says, why not!
In times when filmmakers are breaking stereotypes and experimentation is the key to success, Habib Faisal – under the illustrious banner of Yash Raj Films – comes up with a safe plot: Parma (Arjun Kapoor) meets Zoya (Parineeti Chopra), they fall in love and go through a series a hardships before arriving at a happy end.Click here to read more
Nandana Sen: ‘The Forest’ will scare the hell out of you!
Ashvin Kumar’s The Forest is releasing tomorrow. We caught up with Nandana Sen, the female lead actor of the film, to know what to expect from this psychological thriller
Nandana Sen is synonymous with ‘different’ cinema. With films like My Wife’s Murder, Black, The War Within and Rang Rasiya, Nandana has created a niche for herself and essayed an array of meaningful roles. These days the 43-year-old actor is thrilled about her latest release The Forest. Ask Nandana what got her excited about doing this gritty, dark and scary flick, and her expressive eyes twinkle. “I am really delighted to have done this film. It is a thriller, but the story is interlinked with various innate emotions such as insecurities and fear which make us humans a very unique species. At the end of the day we all are animals, but we need to remind ourselves that we are evolved beings. In this film we are trying to show how the thin line between the wild and the civilised world can get blurred if we are put in a certain situation. The very idea got me excited,” she says animatedly.Click here to read more
Parineeti Chopra: Like Priyanka, I want to be known as a very good actor!
Ishqazaade’s leading lady may still pinch herself in disbelief that she, an aspiring banker-turned-actor, was launched by the illustrious Yash Raj Films and is now a recognisable face on the streets of Mumbai. But Parineeti Chopra has the drive, melodrama and astuteness needed to be the new kid on the filmi block
Dressed in black skin-fit pants and a green formal top Parineeti Chopra, who is doing her round of media interactions on the first floor of Yash Raj Films’ corporate office for Ishaqzaade, can easily be mistaken for one of the white-collared staffers. Maybe that’s coz the 20-something began her journey in the industry as a film marketing executive at the same production house that gave her her big break onscreen.Click here to read more
