Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has been invited by the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies (OCHS) to be one of its patrons, and he has agreed. The actor had delivered the Distinguished Ford Lecture at the centre in May last year, and was invited to be a patron by Lord Dholakia, Governor, to be a part of the OCHS Patrons Council. The centre aims to study Hindu culture, religion, languages, literature, philosophy, history, arts and society around the world. Bachchan had said in his 2011 speech that the centre is “a sure means of enhancing the study and propagation of Hindu Culture, resulting in better understanding.”
