Film writer KK Singh passes away

Famous script and dialogue writer KK Singh passed away in his sleep at his residence in Mumbai on Sunday. He was 58. Singh started his career with Raj Kapoor’s Prem Rog and worked with many other skilful directors later in his career, such as Raj Khosla, Mehul Kumar, Rajiv Rai and Mahesh Manjrekar among others. He wrote for 24 films including the popular ones like Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Krantiveer, Tridev, Mere Jeevan Saathi, Pitaah, Jaanwar, Kurukshetra, Tirangaa, Talaash, Barsaat and Ek Rishtaa – The Bond of Love. His last film was Jaago. He even wrote dialogues for a Bhojpuri film named Aulad, for which he was paid Rs 11 lakh, the highest amount paid to a writer in the industry. Singh had also directed the Salman Khan film Veergati. May his soul rest in peace.
