Jagjit Singh, the king of ghazals is still admitted in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for treatment after suffering a brain haemorrhage. The singer has a number of fans not only in India but also across the border. Patrons of ghazals in Pakistan expressed their concern over Singh’s health. At a cafe in Pakistan, fans were being treated with Singh’s ghazals throughout the day; starting from Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho up to his most recent hit Badi nazuk hai from Joggers’ Park. Chaaye Khana, a cafe in Lahore had a mat on the table decorated with the words ‘Our hearts just missed a beat’. The message was written as soon as devoted fans of the singer in the cafe came to know that Singh was on ventilator support. Many of his fans as well as Pakistani singers prayed for Singh’s quick recovery.
