Sholay actor Kedarnath Sahab passes away

The character actor was seen in more than 500 films
Mid-Day reports that veteran character actor Kedarnath Sahab aka Segal Sahab passed away on September 29. Sahab acted in popular Amitabh Bachchan films like Sholay, Amar Akbar Anthony and Deewar.
The actor’s funeral was held on September 30. Sahab acted in over 500 films in Bollywood. He had debuted in the movie Sikandar-E-Azam starring Prithviraj Kapoor, Mumtaz and Dara Singh and directed by Kedar Kapoor.
May his soul rest in peace.

Film producer Thammareddy Krishnamurthy dies at 93

The popular Telugu producer passed away Monday
“He died early this morning due to some old age related issues at CR Foundation home for the aged in Kondapur (Andhra Pradesh),” a family friend said. Born in 1920 in Chinapalaparru village in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, Krishnamurthy started his career with theatre. He used to produce films under his home banner Ravindra Art Pictures and is known for producing several memorable Telugu classics such as Lakshadhikari, Bangarau Gajaulu, Dharma Daata, Zamindar and Doctor Babu. He received the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah award in 2007.Click here to read more

Manoj Kumar discharged from hospital!

Veteran actor Manoj Kumar, who underwent a successful gall bladder surgery here, was discharged on Monday from the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, said a hospital official. “He was discharged today,” said Ram Narain, executive director, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The 76-year-old actor complained of pain and was admitted to the hospital on July 17. He underwent an hour-long surgery on July 24, which also happened to be his birthday. Manoj Kumar has starred in successful films like Hariyali Aur Raasta, Woh Kaun Thi? and Do Badan. He worked actively as an actor and filmmaker for about 30 years and also earned the title of ‘Bharat Kumar’ for directing patriotic films like Purab Aur Paschim and Upkar.

The two actors recently picked up the trophies at 60th Filmfare Awards of South cinema which was held last week. Dhanush bagged awards in two categories – Best Actor and Best Playback Singer. Dhanush bagged both the awards for his film 3 which was directed by his wife, Aishwarya Rajinikanth where he acted opposite Shruti Haasan. Dulquar received the Best Debut award for his noteworthy performance in Second Show directed by Srinath Rajendran. The film had won critical as well as public acclaim.

Kishan Kumar, brother of T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar has been named by the Delhi police in a chargesheet filed in a court in the capital with regard to the cricket match-fixing case in 2000. The chargesheet was filed before link magistrate Akash Jain; Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Amit Bansal is on leave. The chargesheet will be presented to CMM Bansal on Tuesday. Marathi actor Satish Tare passes away

Satish Tare, a comedian in Hindi and Marathi films, theatre and on television, passed away today. The actor was suffering from diabetes and had been hospitalised for gangrene, say reports. On hearing the news of his passing away, singer-composer Kaushal S Inamdar tweeted, “I am absolutely heartbroken by the news of Satish Tare’s demise. He was a brilliant actor. I sincerely wish that his soul rests in peace.”
Satish acted in movies like Balak Palak, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Navra Mazha Navsacha, Valu (The Wild Bull) and Nana Mama, among others. He was also seen on Marathi TV show Fu Bai Fu. May his soul rest in peace.Click here to read more
