Veteran Bollywood editor MS Shinde passes away

Veteran editor MS Shinde, who had won the Filmfare Award for his work on one of the most revered Bollywood films, Sholay, passed away in Dharavi, Mumbai today. He was 82.

Shinde was suffering from cancer. Apart from Sholay, the editor had worked on close to 50 films including Razia Sultana, BrahmachariSeeta Aur Geeta, Shakti, Saagar, Shakti,  Sohni Mahiwal and Shaan. He also edited Shahrukh Khan films Chamatkar, Ram Jaane and Zamaana Deewana (the last film of his career).

He was reportedly going through a financial crisis and had little money to take care of his medical expenses. While film associations helped him with his cataract and other surgeries, Shinde refused to seek help from Sholay actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Our condolences to the family of MS Shinde.
