The actor-filmmaker pair will soon start a new art and culture hub in Mumbai. Once Kiran has bonded nicely with her new baby son Azad, of course!
Filmmaking has been a passion with them. And now they are extending it to other art forms as well. Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan and his filmmaker wife Kiran Rao are dreaming big – and not just for themselves, but for art and society as a whole. If reports are to be believed, the couple will soon be the proud founders of a new hub for cinema and stage in Mumbai. Amidst reports of Aamir’s hunting for a new bungalow near his current residence, the actor has been scouting for locations for a place that will be the centre of interest for culture vultures in the western suburbs. The project is apparently the brainchild of Kiran, who has a delightfully offbeat point of view in style and filmmaking, wethinks. According to a tabloid, the centre will have a theatre, an archival library of cinema and a cafe. This might be retirement planning for the 46-year-old Aamir, or it might be an alternate career choice for new mom Kiran. Whatever the case may be, it’s quite clear that the happy couple (plus their little one) want to be seen and heard on the non-filmi map of Mumbai and the country, and leave their indelible marks on our cultural landscape. Will they become the new power couple in B-town now? We wait to know more….
