Aamir Khan sells ‘Talaash’ for whopping Rs 90 crore!

Giving Shahrukh Khan a run for his money, Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan sells the theatrical rights of his much anticipated thriller Talaash for an astronomical amount of Rs 90 crore. Aamir beats SRK’s Don 2 which was sold for record Rs 80 crore

Director Reema Kagti’s debut film Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. didn’t quite set the cash registers ringing but her second outing Talaash starring Aamir Khan has started minting money already! The much anticipated film of the year, Talaash, starring Aamir Khan, has been sold and it has fetched Rs 90 crore for the theatrical rights. The film has been sold to Reliance Entertainment and will hit the screens on June 2012. Besides Aamir, Talaash also stars Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor.

This is Aamir’s yet another psychological thriller after his successful outing at BO with Ghajini. As always, Aamir has been tight-lipped about the story. The film’s screenplay is written by Zoya Akhtar. With Rs 90 crore already in his pocket Aamir has beaten Shahrukh Khan, who had bagged Rs 80 crore for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2. The new year has begun on a good note for Aamir and it seems the 3 idiots star is gearing up to set the BO on fire once again with his stunning performance. Though the teaser trailer wasn’t as exciting as it was expected to be, we are sure that the fans can’t wait to watch a new Aamir Khan film! What about you Bollywoodlifers?Subscribe to me on YouTube

Talaash will undoubtedly do great business in India just because of the Khan. However it will not be anything big compared to recent hits like Bodyguard/RaOne/Don2 which all did over 200cr business.. it will be a super hit/blockbuster in India but not overseas.

    • Sanjeev

Ra One was a flop in India and Don 2 has not even beaten Aamir’s Ghajini in India! And don’t forget, Aamir’s 3 Idiots is now officially the biggest grosser overseas too! So FO SRK fan! Keep burning in jealousy!

      • KM

LOL – 120 crores is flop film? and You aamir fans like to call a 10 crores dhobi ghat as hit? In what world is a 120 crore film a flop? All trade sites have given ra.1 as hit.

Don 2 of same genre as talaash did 20 crore more than talaash.

3 idiots was once in a decade film and 4 years ago so dont get so fixated on that.

Teaser isn’t exciting? Dude! Its teaser has become the first ever Indian film to get Youtube Silver and Bronze Medal in just one week! Without any official launch event or press conference! And you say its teaser isn’t much! Haha! Aamir is all set to rule and show how genuine hits are given – without compromising on quality!
