Aamir Khan snatches Christmas release date from Ranbir Kapoor

The Kapoor lad was all set to take on the mighty Khan at the box office this year but looks like the clash has been averted. As per the latest buzz Ranbir’s Bombay Velvet won’t hit the theatres on Christmas courtesy the Dhoom:3 baddie

Aamir Khan’s much-talked about film P.K. and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Bombay Velvet were supposed to release on the same day. While the former has stuck to the Christmas date, we hear the release date of Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet may be pushed back. In that case, the biggest box office battle of 2015 has been avoided wethinks. Good for Ranboo coz Christmas has indeed been lucky for Aamir and all his recent releases during this festive season have turned out to be blockbusters. Remember how Dhoom:3 literally created dhoom at the ticket windows last year? So logically it would be wise if Anurag and RK are contemplating to shift the release of their film Bombay Velvet. While talking to a tabloid, a source said, “Bombay Velvet’s release date (December 25) was announced even before they started shooting for the film. But then it was announced that P.K. would release on the same day. Now Fox Star Studios plans to release Bombay Velvet on another day, as it doesn’t want to take on Aamir’s film. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.” But is that the only reason, we wonder?

Maybe Rishi Kapoor’s laadla beta doesn’t want to ruin his equation with the Satyamev Jayate host. After all, the two share a great rapport and Jr Kapoor certainly cannot afford to rub another Khan the wrong way, right Bollywoodlifers? Also just a few days ago we told you how Kiran Rao’s hubby got a bit catty with Madhu Matena who is one of the makers of Bombay Velvet. Who knows maybe Aamir’s sarcastic blow did the trick. Whatever the reason, it’s always better to not take panga with a Khan – onscreen and off screen too.

However, Anurag is apparently upset with P.K. director Rajkumar Hirani for not giving him heads about his film’s release in December as the Aamir starrer was initially scheduled to hit the screens on June 6.
