Looks like no big star is willing to sign KJo’s ambitious project but the questions is – why?
Karan Johar is undoubtedly one of the most sought after filmmakers in Bollywood and every actor’s dream director. However, the Koffee with Karan host has landed himself in a sticky situation. The Dharma Productions head honcho isn’t finding any big star for Shuddhi and he has already announced that his film would release during Christmas next year. Initially Karan was to cast Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in his much-talked about project. But things didn’t work out and Bebo and Duggu backed out. Johar then offered Shuddhi to Aamir Khan but the superstar wasn’t too keen on doing the film back then. Later, KJo approached Ranveer Singh to play the lead in his film but the Gunday actor chose Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and ditched Shuddhi.
Apparently, the Bombay Velvet baddie again offered his film to Kiran Rao’s hubby after Ranveer rejected it. But the Satyamev Jayate host didn’t budge this time too and courteously refused to sign the film. While talking to a leading tabloid, a source said, “The first time around, he (Aamir Khan) had asked Karan to give him some time to go through the script. He then turned it down saying that the script didn’t work for him. Now he has again politely refused to do the film.”
