The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor turns 38 today
Born on March 15, 1976, Abhay Deol made his Bollywood debut in 2005 with Imtiaz Ali’s Socha Na Tha for which he received critical acclaim for his performance, with many critics branding him as promising. However, he got widespread acclaim for his performance in Manorama Six Feet Under and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!
That’s not all. His role in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which also starred Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar and Kalki Koechlin was appreciated and earned him his first nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and he has since appeared in films such as Chakravyuh, Shanghai and Raanjhanaa, receiving critical acclaim and being described as an actor who continuously understands how to play complex characters.
And acting was always in his blood since he is Dharmendra’s nephew, and the cousin of Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
Abhay ventured into production recently by co-producing the film One By Two. However he got into a tiff with music label T-Series (owned by Bhushan Kumar) for not releasing the music of his film over some ‘contractual’ issues. The actor was also seen sporting a black eye at the red carpet of an award function to protest against the music label.
