SS Rajamouli’s Naan Ee (Tamil) / Eega (Telugu) is raking in the moolah at the box office. And now the filmmaker wants to release the flick in Hindi
Naan Ee is set to be titled Makhi in Hindi and if rumours are to be believed, Abhishek Bachchan has been approached to play the main lead originally played by Nani. Reports suggest that the makers will retain Sudeep (the bad guy) and Samantha’s (female lead) portions for the Hindi version. Now, Sudeep is a known face in Bollywood (Rann, Phoonk, Phoonk 2 and Rakta Charitra Part 1 & 2), but Rajamouli wanted a popular B-town face to play the protagonist. According to rumours, the Bol Bachchan actor has accepted the role; however, we still haven’t received any confirmation from the makers or the actor. Abhishek will barely be seen for 15-20 minutes on screen.
Samantha and Sudeep have already dubbed for the Hindi version, and will re-shoot the portions featuring Abhishek. The 3D film was a big sell out at the BO; the makers are now deciding whether to release Makhi in 2D or 3D. In case the film is shot in 3D, it will release by the end of the year, however, if they decide to make the movie in 2D, Makhi will hit the screens in a month or two.
