After Baahubali, Karan Johar bags the distribution rights for Rana Daggubati’s Ghazi

Ghazi is all set for release on February 24 2017 in Telugu and Hindi, the movie will also be dubbed in Tamil. There is a huge buzz around this movie as it’s going to be the first submarine based war film. Now here is the latest update – Karan Johar has bagged the Hindi distributions rights for Ghazi. According to a leading portal, here’s what a source reveals, “After the grand success of S.S. Rajamouli’s directorial Baahubali, producer-director Karan Johar has started investing more in the South, and up next is the Rana Daggubati and Taapsee Pannu starrer Ghazi, and he has recently bagged the Hindi distribution rights for the film.” Well, bagging the distribution rights for the Historical drama was the best deicison ever. He also holds the distribution rights for the sequel. And now Ghazi too.

Ghazi is based on the mysterious events that took place during the Bangladesh-Pakistan war of 1971. It’s the first of its kind in South cinema. Rana Daggubati plays a navy officer while Taapsee plays a refugee. Movie aside, we will actually get to see the South hottie in a Navy uniform! In an EXCLUSIVE chat with Bollywoodlife, Rana Daggubati revealed what it was like shooting for Ghazi – “We just finished filming for it. We built two large submarines in Hyderabad and we shot in two languages, Hindi and Telugu. It’s based on true events that happened in 1971 before the war broke out in India. So it’s one of those conspiracy tales that wasn’t told and when we heard it, We thought it was a very important story to tell. And it happened on the coast of Vizag, which is a place where I grew up, a place I know of very well. It was rather difficult in terms of sitting inside a submarine and shooting for it. Inside a submarine you lose track of time, daylight ( when you are inside, you don’t realise). We are very excited though, also we have an intresting cast – there’s Kay Kay menon, Tapsee, Atul Kulkarni and myself. A lot of interesting fine actors have come to put this film together. The film will be ready hopefully by the end of the year, and it will be an early next year release
