After Sonu Nigam, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy embroiled in a legal spat with T-Series

Not so long ago, Sonu Nigam announced his retirement on Twitter after he faced contractual issues with T-Series. And now we hear Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have locked horns with the same music label

Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, who have composed music for Abhay Deol’s first production venture One By Two, have refused to follow the terms and conditions put forth by Bhushan Kumar’s company T-Series. In fact, the music director trio hasn’t even signed the contract and that’s the reason why the music of Abhay’s film is yet to be released. As per the singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan, T-Series wants to collect royalty for the film’s music on their behalf but looks like that’s not going happen. While talking to a tabloid, the talented music director said, “The music association and our lawyers have advised us to not sign the agreement as it is illegal. We can’t allow the music company to collect royalty on our behalf.”

On the other hand, when the same tabloid got in touch with T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, he stated, “I have been facing problems only with the smaller films, we never faced problems with Sajid-Wajid who assigned the music rights to Sohail Khan and ditto for Ram Sampath who has composed music for my film Bhootnath 2. Even Himesh Reshammiya has agreed to give rights to his music.” Divya Khosla Kumar’s hubby further said that such issues should be sorted by the producer of the film.
