After ‘Thappad Maar’, it’s ‘Punch the Pervert’

Ekta Kapoor has a new Facebook application for her film Ragini MMS

Remember the ‘Thappad Maar’ initiative launched by Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan along with No One Killed Jessica? It was basically a helpline for women who were in distress, who could share any abuse-related issue with either Rani or Vidya and bring the wrongdoer to book. Ekta Kapoor is trying something similar for her film Ragini MMS, starring Kainaz Motivala and Raj Kumar Yadav. It’s a Facebook application titled ‘Punch the Pervert’. The only problem here is that you have to search for ‘perverts’ in your friends list first, and what if you have only good friends on your list? Simple: the application won’t work for you. But Ekta probably forgot that Facebook simply has an option to ‘Report’ any sick person or comments. Why would we use her application then? Maybe to get the same cheap thrill that viewers got to ‘slap’ MTV Roadies’ Raghu Ram on the show’s website, who knows! Let’s see how many perverts Ekta ends up punching….
