Aishwarya, Kareena, Anushka: victims of Yash Raj Films?
Anushka Sharma is not the only one who has had to get rid of her curves by order of her producers. A number of heroines have had to go super-slim to fit into projects by the production house
The recent photograph of a painfully thin Anushka Sharma has created a buzz about how skinny the Band Baaja Baraat actor has become over the last couple of months. Truth is that Anushka was asked to tone up for Yash Raj Films’ Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Well, there was a time when Yash Raj Films’ wrote author-backed roles for female actors like Sridevi in Lamhe, Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Pagal Hai and Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge; none of these lovely ladies had any qualms about showing off a little rubber tyre or two. Today, things seem to have changed. While B-town girls are only too happy to play the lead in a big budget Yash Raj film, we wonder if the production house is beginning to reduce its women to just decorative elements.
