The two divas of Bollywood were seen in out and out glamorous avatars and we totally approved, especially after their previous duds
While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seen in a slinky blue Roberto Cavalli at the Life Ball 203 held in Vienna, Vidya Balan made it a point to spread some shimmer and shine on the red carpet as the 66th Cannes International Film Festival came to an end. The braided hair made VB look super feminine, and while we won’t say we are huge fans of the dull olive and gold statement she chose to end her Cannes journey with this year, thank God she didn’t take the over-accessorising route again or even the path that screamed ‘I am Indian’ to the core. She looked nice to a point that makes us give her a 3.5/5.
Ash looked like an electrifying mermaid. No topknots, no fatty deposits playing peekaboo with the paparazzi, just a classy-funky style with nicely set hair that completed her look.
Nandita Das looked like a sunshiny delight in that slick yellow saree. Her traditional and simple aura always appeals, no matter what. While Ms Das was at her ethnic best, Miss India 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan went futuristic in a saree with a whacky origami pleated hem. She is tall and slim and carries it off, never mind our question of what she was doing there at all. But of the many crazy versions we have seen of a saree, this one’s quite a doozy…
