Though we loved Rani Mukerji and Prithviraj Sukumaran grooving to the fun number Dreammum wakepum in their upcoming film Aiyyaa, the duo completely let us down with their over-the-top raunchy histrionics in Aga bai
Spoofs are not easy to pull off. While the right amount of fun and some much needed spice essentially make spoofs fun, not knowing where to draw the line could backfire big time! Perhaps that’s problem with Aiyyaa’s new song, Aga bai.
While we were thoroughly entertained by Rani Mukerji shaking her booty with Southern star Prithviraj Sukumaran in Dreammum wakepum, in this song the two bored us out of our collective skull with their antics.
Rani is seen heaving her bosom and jiggling her tummy vigorously as her fantasy man in the film, Sukumaran wanders around half naked, showing off his muscles. The petite babe then smells Sukumaran’s body and scratches his muscular back with her long nails. The antics just get more tacky with every passing frame and after a point the song becomes a big bore, especially visually.
Sung by Shalmali Kholgade and Monali Thakur, Aga bai is composed by Amit Trivedi. The composition has nothing exciting about it.
We give this number a big thumbs down. You watch the song – at your own risk, of course – and tell us whether you (dis)like it!
