In a unique promotional strategy, the makers of Special 26 unveil Akshay Kumar as CBI inspector Ajay Singh who is looking for people to conduct a raid
Director Neeraj Pandey is more nervous than excited about his next film Special 26 considering it’s a suspense thriller. Naturally, he wants everything related to his film, including the story and other intriguing details to be kept completely under the wraps. But that doesn’t stop Pandey and the movie’s publicity managers to reveal an interesting photograph on the film’s official Twitter home page to create buzz and awareness for their film.
The picture has Akshay Kumar’s passport-size photograph where he claims to be CBI inspector Ajay Singh. The tweet reads – “CBI Ward 16 se Ajay Singh bol raha hoon, dekhiye humein kuch log chahiyen, raid daalni hai. RT zaroor karna doston!” From what we know, the Akshay Kumar starrer is an edgy, gritty heist drama based on the real-life daring heist (dated March 19, 1987) where a conman recruited 26 people, posed as a CBI officer and executed a daylight raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai, and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs.
