Khiladi Kumar can do it all – fight goons, win the heroine, cool dance moves and, of course, sing
Akshay Kumar is proving to be a multifaceted actor. His culinary skills are as well known as his stunts and his acting, but looks like Akki also has a singer hidden within him. So the actor surprised his Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobara castmates and the audience looking on when he joined the famous Pakistani Sufi duo the Shabri brothers on stage for a qawwali song called Chadhta suraj.
This is not the first time that Akshay has sat behind the microphone to showcase his vocals. He was specially trained for almost five months for a romantic song in Special 26 that he reportedly did for wifey Twinkle Khanna. This one was, however, more special, because AK dedicated Chadhta suraj to a college friend he lost last year. He explained, “This song is dedicated to a very close friend who passed away at a very young age. We used to hum this song together in college and I miss him whenever I hear it. The song is very close to my heart.” Wah, wah!
The Jashan-e-Eid show he was attending in Pune became even more entertaining thanks to Akki’s impromptu onstage dedication. And from what we hear, the actor who has entertained us with his action and rib tickling comedies managed to get everyone moist eyed this time around.
