… but we hope we are not in for another Tees Maar Khan type film that’ll make us squirm in our seats!
Looks like Shirish Kunder aka Mr Farah Khan is planning to make a handful of movies and release them all together, and we have a reason for saying this. While Shirish’s Kick and Joker wait to see the light of day, the director-producer has jumped into making yet another movie. We are not very hopeful about the two in the queue, but Kunder’s new venture, Common Man, catches our attention because Shirish has roped in Amitabh Bachchan for it. The movie is said to be based on the Hollywood hit The Pursuit of Happyness, which revolves around a homeless salesman-turned-stockbroker and his son. It’s a project very close to Shirish’s heart because he thinks that every common man will relate to the story. But that’s not all. Shirish goes a step further to say, ”This is the kind of story that only someone like me who is an outsider and has struggled to come into Bollywood can make.” Well Shirish, while it’s okay to brag about your understanding of such issues, wethinks that underestimating other filmmakers brands you as ‘cocksure’. Anyways, just for Big B’s sake, we hope that the Common Man remains just that and does not turn into someone like Tees Maar Khan. Fingers crossed!
