Vicky Donor director Shoojit Sircar is so overwhelmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag that he wants to make a biopic on Bollywood’s Shehenshah
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has been receiving tremendous accolades from critics and audiences alike. The Farhan Akhtar starrer is a consummate biopic on India’s Olympic sprinter Milkha Singh. The movie certainly has had an inspirational impact on cinegoers. And now BMB, it seems, is going to set a new trend in biopics in the days to come. Shoojit Sircar, the director of John Abraham’s successful debut production Vicky Donor is planning to make a biopic on…hold your breath…Amitabh Bachchan!
Sircar has worked with Big B in a yet to be released movie called Shoebite. The intelligent filmmaker has also shot a few commercials with the megastar. “I am making a documentary with Mr Bachchan. It is about him, his life journey. It is a tribute to him. It will take some time. He has a charismatic personality. It is an honour to work with him. Even at this age he is energetic and passionate about his work,” said Sircar in an interview.
According to Shoojit, he really liked Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and is inspired by the way Milkha Singh has been portrayed on the big screen. He believes that more biopics should be made so that people know more about Indian legends. Shoojit has ten stories in his head and is planning to write them soon. Of these, one is a biopic, he admits.
