Apparently, the makers of Sholay 3D will release their film on the superstar’s birthday
Earlier there were reports that the 3D version of 1975 Bollywood classic Sholay will release on August 15, but our khabroo tells us that the film will now release on October 11 which coincides on Amitabh Bachchan’s 71st birthday.
The movie, famous for the bond between characters Jai and Veeru, essayed by screen icons Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, is still viewed as one of the best movies ever. The 1975 hit was directed by Ramesh Sippy, which also featured Hema Malini, who played Basanti and Amjad Khan, who essayed the role of villain Gabbar Singh.
And how could one ever forget the cult dialogues like “Hum angrezon ke zamaane ke jailor hai“, “Basanti, in kutton ke saamne mat naachna” and “Ye haath humka de de Thakur? And we are only happy to know that the classic is being re-released in a 3D version.
According to a source, “The date was specifically chosen as it coincides with Bachchan’s big day. He is the biggest star we have today and what better day to release the film.”
Now isn’t that sweet?
