Anupam Kher honoured with The Asian Award for contribution to Hindi cinema!

The Silver Linings Playbook actor is super delighted on receiving the honour along with famous celebrities like Sir Ben Kingsley, musician Nicole Scherzinger and the late martial arts superstar Bruce Lee

It seems, with each passing month, Anupam Kher is being blessed with some new award or the other for his contribution to cinema, either by his film fraternity or Hollywood where the veteran actor has successfully carved a niche for himself. Kher, Sir Ben Kingsley, popular musician Nicole Scherzinger and the late Hollywood legend Bruce Lee were honoured at the third edition of The Asian Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on April 16.

While Kingsley was given the Fellowship Award for his five-decade long film career, Bruce Lee was bestowed upon the Founders Award for his impact and influence on Western cinema. The proud winner Kher said, “This was totally unexpected! I am truly humbled and honoured for being awarded The Asian Award for my work as an actor. As an actor, all we do and want to do is making people laugh, cry, and persuade many other emotions by our craft. Our achievement is when the audience understands what we are doing. And the best part is when the spectrum is not India but Asia and the awards are not only for the category of cinema but other fields too.”

Now, the Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 actor’s name will be added to the long list of achievers who have been honoured with the Asian Awards – Amitabh Bachchan, Asha Bhosle, AR Rahman, Sachin Tendulkar, Ratan Tata, Muttiah Muralitharan and Jay Sean. Our heartiest congratulations to you, Mr Kher! We are sure there are many more to come…
