Anurag Kashyap gets nostalgic

Though writer-director-turned-producer Anurag Kashyap has moved on from his dark past circa Dev.D, all it took was an article that he had written in early 2006 for a tabloid to send him on a nostalgia trip. He put up the link on Facebook saying, “One of my favourite pieces I ever wrote, but was lost. This was my state of mind then in early 2006. It was published in Mid Day.” The article was about how he felt when his films, including Gulaal and Black Friday, weren’t being released, while the rest of Bollywood went unaffected, and how he dealt with the sorrow. Commenting on the link, director Hansal Mehta said, “Superb. Honest. Angry. Self contradictory. Condescending. Humble. Lost. Found. Love. Hate. Free. Trapped. Bukowski. Kashyap.” Anurag is now working on his ambitious project tentatively titled Gangs of Wasseypur and is looking forward to the release of That Girl in Yellow Boots.Subscribe to me on YouTube
