The director has partnered with Percept to bring the popular music festival onto celluloid
Sunburn – The Movie, a film based on Goa’s popular electronic music festival, is set to be co-produced by Percept Pictures, Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Phanton Films. The film’s launch party was held in Mumbai on Tuesday night. It was attended by the head honchos of both the companies – Percept’s Shailendra Singh and Viacom’s Vikram Malhotra – along with Phantom Films’ Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl. The three companies have joined hands to make the first Indian movie based on Asia’s largest electronic dance music festival – Sunburn.
Anurag Kashyap has mentored the film, teaming with seven directors to discreetly shoot the festival during the last edition. “Today we announce Sunburn - the film. Thank you Percept and Viacom for backing us. It was shot discreetly at the last Sunburn fest with seven directors,” Kashyap tweeted Tuesday night.
