The intelligent director wears a new hat – that of a music composer – for his forthcoming production starring the curly beauty
Anurag Kashyap’s forthcoming venture, Queen starring Kangna Ranaut, will see the director play a new role – that of a music composer. Yes, the talented director, we hear, is going to compose a song with Rupesh Kumar.
It so happened that a few months ago, Anurag stumbled upon the work of a young composer in Shimla. So impressed was the Gangs Of Wasseypur director with Rupesh’s folk song titled Ranjhana, that he wanted to use it for one of his films. In fact, Kashyap decided to enhance and tweak the track in his own way for Queen. He discussed with Rupesh what they could do with the song to match it with the plot, and then presented the work to Queen’s music composer, Amit Trivedi, and director, Vikas Bahl.
Both Vikas and Amit liked Rupesh’s work and eventually decided to include it in the official soundtrack. “Anurag has an eye for finding talent in remote corners of the country. Rupesh has created a beautiful track and it adds to one of the most emotional moments of the film. We want to do a lot of work with Rupesh in the future, and we hope to find more such talent,” said Vikas.
Queen revolves around the story of a small-town girl, who moves to a big city to realise her dreams. We are eager to watch Kangy in her sans-make up humble avatar and to listen to Kashyap’s new composition, of course!
