India’s first 3D dance film has Prabhu Deva and Remo D’Souza making people truly believe that anybody can dance!
The dance craze has spilled over from the small screen and shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dance India Dance, to the big screen now. Serving up a treat in the form of India’s first 3D dance film is Remo D’Souza’s Anybody Can Dance, popularly called ABCD. And with this movie, it seems like Remo and Prabhu Deva have taken things to a totally different level.
The trailer of this upcoming film looks like an all singing-all dancing extravaganza, packed with stunts, gravity defying dance and fight moves, some real clever choreography, along with what looks like a compelling enough story.
The film’s cast too is just as interesting. Kay Kay Menon plays the baddie who runs a dance school, while Prabhu Deva is a student who separates on idealistic grounds to establish his own dance academy, and the two meet at a dance competition in an old school face-off.
Other members of the cast include contestants and choreographers like Lauren Gottlieb, an international celebrity who participated in the hit American series So You Think You Can Dance, Dharmesh Yelande, a popular face on many reality dance shows, Salman Yusuf Khan, winner of Dance India Dance, and ace choreographer Ganesh Acharya.
So, until now it all looks good, and we cant’t wait for the movie to hit the screens. What remains to be seen is can ABCD 3D equal other popular 3D dance operas from Hollywood. Well, we hope it does! Meanwhile, keep watching this space for more on ABCD!
