AR Rahman thinks Bollywood lacks gratitude

The Rockstar composer roots for Indian classical music

Despite the fact that AR Rahman is credited to bringing contemporary world music to Bollywood, he still feels that the aura of Indian classical music is unparalleled. The Mozart of Madras is a happy man, now that the songs of his latest film are becoming a rage, especially the track Sadda haq. In a recent interview the Oscar-winning composer said, “The ‘guru-shisya parampara’ (teacher-student tradition) that is the underlying crux of Indian classical music is largely absent in Bollywood and contemporary music.
