AR Rahman’s nephew GV Prakash turns to acting

After making music for southern as well as Hindi films, composer GV Prakash is set to make his acting debut with AR Murugadoss’ upcoming home production

The venture will be helmed by one of Murugadoss’s assistants.“Talks are on with the composer to play the hero because it’s a musical subject and the producer is convinced that he will be apt for the role,” informed a source close to the director.  “The cast and crew of the untitled film are yet to be disclosed. Once everything is finalised, an official launch will be made,” added the source.

Nephew of Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman, Prakash is currently working in a string of projects in Kollywood and Bollywood. Some of the Tamil films Paradesi, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum and Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming Hindi film Ugly. He also composed music for Hindi films Joker and Gangs of Wasseypur. This is not the first time a music composer is turning to acting. Recently, Vijay Anthony made his acting debut with Tamil film Naan and has also signed his second project.
