Are Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar deliberately releasing their films on the same day?

Ajay and Akki’s film have clashed at the box office quite a few times and looks like both the actors will battle it out in 2014 as well

Ajay Devgn’s Action Jackson and Akshay Kumar’s Holiday: A Soldier Is Never off Duty were earlier slated to release on May 1. However, Kajol’s hubby dearest asked the makers of the Akki starrer to postpone the release date of their film and they even obliged. But looks the box office clash hasn’t been averted. As per the latest buzz, Ajay and Khiladi Kumar’s film will indeed hit the screens on the same day but on June 6. Since Aamir Khan’s much-awaited film P.K. will now release in Christmas and not on June 6, both Ajay and Akshay are eyeing June 6 release.

While talking to a tabloid, Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Entertainment said, “Ajay had requested that I move the release date of our film Holiday from May 1. So when we heard that ‘Peekay’ was no longer releasing on June 6, we decided to slot our release accordingly. We were not aware that now Ajay has shifted his film Action Jackson to the same day.”

On the other hand, Action Jackson producer Sunil Lulla stated, “As far as I know, Holiday was releasing on May 1. In fact, we had a discussion with Ajay Devgn last week and it was mutually decided that our film would release on June 6.”

Whether it’s intentional or a genuine misunderstanding between the two parties, we dunno. But what we do know is – when two big films clash at BO, only one of them rakes in big moolah. Of course there are exceptions but only time will if there is any in this case.
