The Hasee Toh Phasee girl and the Highway lass are not too fond of each other. And we tell you why…
It’s a fact of the entire existence of the earth that two competing heroines in Bollywood cannot be good friends. And rivalries between Madhuri Dixit-Sridevi, Kareena Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra and many other leading ladies have proved this.
This has become a sort of tradition and the newer age heroines like Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt seem to be following it. The two young actors seem to be quite insecure about each other and that was evident when Alia was quick to mention Pari’s name when she was asked who makes her insecure by Karan Johar on his popular chat show Koffee With Karan 4. “I think she’s fantastic. I think she’s so good that I wish I was that good. She’s so effortless, and her command over the language is something that I love,” she said during the chit chat. Later, during the Rapid Fire round when Karan asked Alia who she would gift the Style for Dummies book to, she didn’t hesitate to name Parineeti, stating that she is a good actor, but can do better when it comes to style. Of course Alia apologised for hurting anyone’s feelings before she said it, but she did say it!
We realised these cold vibes were not one sided – Parineeti is not particularly fond of Alia either and keeps a check on her work all the time, we hear. Apparently Pari desperately wanted to bag Imtiaz Ali’s Highway, but lost out to Alia, which made all the way more wary of the younger girl. Whether this will bloom into a long-term feeling that gets personal, or whether it will stay work-oriented, only time will tell.
Frankly, we are not surprised – after all, like we said at the start, we are used to these rivalries between heroines.
