After taking a long break from the small screen, the Miley Jab Hum Tum lad is back with a brand new show on SAB TV with Shweta Gulati…
After entertaining fans with his act in shows like Left Right Left, Miley Jab Hum Tum and many more, Arjun Bijlani is back on the small screen with a brand new serial called Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar that has an interesting concept backing it. We caught up with pin-up boy of the small screen and asked him about his new role, marriage and more….
You are back on the small screen after a long break. Tell us something about your new show…
The show is called Biwi Se Kare Pyaar and it’s about a newly married husband and wife. I am playing the character of the husband. His name in the show is Aditya and the role of wife is being played by Shweta Gulati. Her name is Suhaani. Talking about my character, he is the most romantic guy on earth who just loves his wife and can do anything for her. They are a working couple and hardly get time to spend with each other. Whatever time they get, they are in the kitchen, where the husband cooks for his wife and they share romantic moments with each other while cooking. This is the first time on Indian television that a fiction show comes with a cookery show. So while the husband and wife romance with each other, the viewers will also learn new recipes on each episode.
You tied the knot very recently, in May. How is life post marriage?
Life post marriage is awesome. I dedicate this new show to my biwi (Neha Swami). And she is more than happy that I am doing this show. So whenever I come back from the shoot, she tells me to cook!
Do you cook in real life as well?
A little. I can make pasta. I can make rice, dal and roti. I mean, I can make basic stuff. But I am not that great a chef who can make these mouth-watering and tasty dishes. But yes, through this show I might just become a good chef, you never know.
So what do you prefer to be – husband or boyfriend?
Actually, both! Dono mein alag hi mazaa hai. It’s just that when you become a husband, you feel more responsible.
Do you follow any other Indian TV shows?
Frankly, no. Because there is no time. I wake up at 7 in the morning. I leave my house by 8. Then I come back by 11.30, or something. Then I hit the gym. Then I again go for the shoot. So there is no time. But whenever I get the time, I watch the news channels, by which I get glimpses of what is happening in every show.
You have a very good physique. Tell us something about your workout regime….
Sab workout ka nateeja hai. Now that I have started shooting, I go to the gym only for an hour or so. You don’t want to exert so much pressure, because you are tired the whole day. Also, I follow a strict diet when it comes to eating. I avoid eating oily stuff and stuff that is extra sweet.
There were rumours that you were offered Nach Baliye 6…
Yes, that’s true. See, a lot of times you get offered so many things, but it doesn’t materialise. But it’s okay. There is always a next time. There are various reason for something not happening. Mere nahi hua, toh kisi aur ka toh hua hi hoga. So all the best to all the jodis on Nach Baliye 6.
