Yash Raj Film’s earlier discovery Ranveer Singh wasn’t bound by any exclusivity clause in his contract, but Boney Kapoor’s son is. We wonder why!
Gossipmongers from the trade circles revealed to us that the Ishqzaade debutant actor Arjun Kapoor will work with other production houses only after he completes three films under the Yash Raj Films banner. The YRF authorities did not respond to this latest story but we think there is some meat to it. The leading production house’s earlier discovery Anushka Sharma too was bound by a three-film clause in her contract. Her first three films Rab Ne Bana De Jodi, Badmaash Company and Band Baaja Baaraat were YRF productions. The leggy lass signed Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House opposite Akshay Kumar only after those three films released.
Meanwhile, Anushka’s BBB co-star, Ranveer Singh didn’t seem to have to adhere to any such conditions. After Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, his second film under the YRF banner, the Mumbai born actor began working on the period romance Lootera by Vikramaditya Motwane (of Udaan fame). Wonder why such an exception! A while ago we had also heard that Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti, who plays the lead role in the Arjun-starrer, too isn’t allowed to work outside the prestigious banner. Looks like YRF wants to make sure that they reap the benefits of what they have sown before passing it on to others!
