Top directors of B-town state their choices for the same. Read on to find out…
Subhash Ghai’s Ram Lakhan is a cult film. The revenge story, it was one of the biggest hits of the ’90s. Now Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty are all set to remake the film. It’s hard to imagine anyone other than the original heroes Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff as Ram Lakhan. There is a huge curiosity factor on who will play the two brothers in this redux version. Anil’s son Harshvardhan and Jackie’s son Tiger would have been the ideal choice but they don’t suit the parts. We asked directors to list their choices and this is what they had to say…
Satish Kaushik: Ajay Devgn as Ram for his power and intense silences and Arjun Kapoor as Lakhan for his Ishaqzaade street smartness. And yes, I’d love to reprise my role of Devdhar, provided Anupam Kher returns to his role of Kashiram. They were one of the funniest comic twosome in Indian cinema.
Ken Ghosh: Siddharth Malhotra or Aditya Roy Kapoor for Jackie’s part. Both have the smouldering intensity required to play the role. And Arjun Kapoor for Anil’s role. Arjun has been rehearsing for this role all his life.
Sanjay Gupta: Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan should play Ram and Lakhan. More importantly Boman Irani should play Anupam Kher’s role.
Umesh Shukla: I’d like to see Ranbir Kapoor as Lakhan and Sushant Singh Rajput as Ram.
Hansal Mehta: Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor should reprise their roles.
Jackie Shroff: Obviously Anil and I should play Lakhan and Ram again.
Ajay Bahl: Siddharth Malhotra as Ram and Ranveer Singh as Lakhan.
Onir: Ranveer Singh as Ram and Sushant Singh Rajput as Lakhan.
Kunal Deshmukh: Ranveer Singh for Lakhan because he has the crazy energy to pull it off. And Ajay Devgn for Ram.
