Though Habib Faisal’s Ishaqzaade was criticised for its regressive portrayal of women, the leading pair of the film, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra managed to impress the audience as well as the critics. Arjun reminded us of Abhishek Bachchan in his first project, Refugee and we thought the Kapoor boy did a good job as Param in his debut project.
After winning generous accolades for Ishaqzaade, the speculations about his next big screen outing had already begun. The actor is now all set to play a double role in Atul Sabharwal’s directorial debut Aurangzeb, which is a part of his three-film deal with Yash Raj Films. Initially, the rumours doing the rounds were that Arjun and Parineeti would come together again, but apparently that isn’t the case.
He has been paired with Shakti Kapoor’s daughter Shraddha Kapoor who was last seen in Bumpy’s Luv Ka The End. This news really came as a big surprise to us, especially to those who loved the crackling chemistry between Arjun and Parineeti in Ishaqzaade, and were eagerly waiting to see them together again. Wethinks there is nothing wrong with the fresh pairing, but the real question is, will Arjun be able to pull off a double role?

Ishaqzaade was wrongly criticised for being regressive by some ignorant critics who have no idea about the patriarchal and oppressive treatment of women in India,which the film correctly portrayed. Please don’t parrot opinions which are pseudo-feminist, while ignoring the reality that the film showed.
