The Pakistani singer turns 31 today
Born on March 12, 1983, Atif Aslam’s first love wasn’t singing but cricket. He was such a good fast bowler that at one point he was training to represent his country Pakistan in the U-19 World Cup. But destiny had other plans for Atif. During his college days, Atif’s friends encouraged him to take up singing and that’s when he recorded his first single Aadat with his pocket money. Within no time the song went viral on the net and Aslam entered the world of music. In 2004, the talented singer released his first album ‘Jal Pari’ and most of his songs became hit. Since then there has been no looking back for Atif, who has won millions of hearts not only in Pakistan but across the globe with his dumdaar voice. In 2005, he made his debut in Bollywood by lending his voice for Emraan Hashmi starrer Zeher. Thereafter Atif has crooned for many Bollywood blockbuster films like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani, Race, Race 2 and Phata Poster Nikhla Hero to name a few.
In 2012, Atif Aslam was named amongst the top performers of Dubai alongside Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Il Divo, Gotye, Evanescence & Swedish House Mafia. Also, he is the first Asian man to have performed inside the Dashrath Rangasla – National Football Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal. Last year, the singer performed for the first time at the LG Arena in Birmingham. That’s not all! Atif has even acted in the Pakistani film Bol which released in 2011.
With so many accomplishments to his credit wethinks Atif Aslam has more than one reason to celebrate his birthday every year. Wink wink! So here’s wishing the supremely talented Atif a very happy birthday!
