Wish the adorable child actor-turned-film star a very happy birthday!

Bollywood actor Ayesha Takia was born on April 10, 1986 in Mumbai to a Gujarati father and a Maharashtrian-British mother. Starting out as a child artiste working in ads and anchoring children’s TV shows where her beauty first came to the fore, Ayesha went on to star in music videos of Falguni Pathak and DJ Aqeel that made her a household name. Bollywood was not far away. She made her debut in Tarzan: The Wonder Car opposite Vatsal Seth in 2004. It fetched her a Filmfare Best Debut award as well as the IIFA award for Best Debut Female. Two more films of Ayesha released the same year – Dil Maange More with Shahid Kapoor and the Imtiaz Ali-directed Socha Tha Na opposite Abhay Deol.

She went on to star in some more Hindi films and a Telugu film (Super), before being recognised for her acting talent in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dor (2006) where she starred with Gul Panag. Ayesha garnered several best actress and best supporting actress awards for Dor. In 2007, she starred in six films - Salaam-E-Ishq, Kya Love Story Hai, Fool and Final, Cash, Blood Brothers and No Smoking – all of which did average business. Sunday and De Taali, both in 2008, also met the same fate. It was in 2009 that Ayesha delivered her biggest hit at the box office, with Salman Khan as her co-star in Wanted. But her other film that year, 8×10 Tasveer with Akshay Kumar met with an average response. But 2009 was clearly lucky for the girl, who had married childhood sweetheart Farhan Azmi on March 1 that year. Ayesha followed her Wanted success up with Paathshala in 2010, and another Nagesh Kukunoor film Mod in 2011.

Ayesha is happily married to Farhan and will be seen in a few other films and also on television again soon. We wish the pretty girl all the luck and a very happy birthday!
